Purpose
The purpose of the decorticator is to crack open and separate the oil-bearing kernel from the outer cover (hulls) of the seed.
Importance
For better oil extraction efficiency, the kernel and the husk/hull should be separated as the husk/hull does not contain oil and it is fibrous in nature. If this process is not followed then it may lead to poor oil quality and more percentage of oil can be retained in the cake which results in inefficiency.

LINEAR SEPARATOR
Purpose
The purpose of the linear separator/shaker is to separate the oil-bearing seeds from the unwanted husk in a linear fashion. This is mainly utilized after the decortication process.
Importance
Once the kernel is separated from the hull through decortication and most of the husk is blown away using the blower, the remaining impurities that escape the blower can be separated and filtered out using a linear separator. This separation is mainly done because substances such as husks are fibrous in nature. If they are not separated from kernel then it may lead to poor oil quality and comparatively less percentage of oil only can be obtained as the remaining will be absorbed by the cake. This may result in a lack of efficiency.

CENTRIFUGAL SEPERATOR
Purpose
The purpose of the centrifugal separator/shaker is to separate the oil-bearing seeds from the unwanted husk by using the centrifugal principle. This may also be utilized for the second stage of separation after the separation through the shaker soon after the decortication process.
Importance
Once the kernel is separated from the hull through decortication and most of the husk is blown away using the blower, the remaining fine impurities that escape the blower can be separated and filtered out using a centrifugal separator making sure the obtained oil-bearing seeds are completely impurities free.

DISINTEGRATOR
Purpose
The purpose of the Disintegrator is to reduce the volume of the oil-bearing seed or the output cake.

Purpose of cracker
The purpose of the cracker is to crack open the seeds for even cooking of the oil-bearing seeds.
Purpose of Flaker
The purpose of flaker is to press the oil-bearing seeds to the desired size and squeeze the oil from the core to the outer layer to make the process of oil extraction more efficient.
Importance
To obtain better oil extraction efficiency, the seeds must be properly cooked. Hence, to ensure that the cracker is utilized to crack-open the seeds by making them pass through two rollers with sharp surfaces rotating in the opposite direction.
Flaker uses a similar principle as that of a cracker, but it uses rollers flat surface rotating in the opposite direction to flake the fibrous seeds into the desired size to obtain maximum oil efficiency.

CONDITIONER
Purpose
Conditioner is used to prepare the pre-cleaned oil-bearing seeds with proper heating through indirect steaming and condition them equally to attain the optimal point where the oil can be extracted at maximum efficiency.

This process of conditioning the seeds is very essential to attain maximum efficiency in terms of oil and cake output.
